About the Speaker
Pat Helland was an architect at Microsoft for two decades before he joined Amazon as a senior technology manager. He has worked on database, transaction processing, loosely-coupled application environments and SOAs, and distributed, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems. He also helped produce MTS, now COM+, and Yukon's SQL Service Broker product.
