Desktop Authority
Desktop Authority lets administrators manage networked systems remotely through a Web browser, PDA, or WAP-phone browser. Administrators can control computers remotely to check e-mail, control services, make Registry changes, manage permissions, and so on. The remote technology also enables users to access their desktop PC and files from home or while on the road without additional client-side software. Desktop Authority provides five levels of security and a remote interface. The GUI-based management console combines logon scripting, security policies, and user profile management. UBDR Pro uses snapshot disk imaging technology to back up servers and workstations. After installation, UBDR Pro uses a "lights out" scheduler to back up snapshot images of selected partitions to tape, disk, or any UNC path. A built-in locked-file backup agent ensures all files are backed up so they can be restored safely when required. UBDR Pro backs up only active disk clusters while ignoring non-pertinent page files and hibernation data. The backup image file is compressed on the client side before being transferred to a network storage location. Desktop DNA Enterprise 4.6
Desktop DNA Enterprise 4.6 manages the migration of each user's PC DNA (settings, data, and preferences) during a Windows upgrade, and it also enables you to migrate user profiles from Windows NT Server 4.0 domains into Windows Server 2003 Active Directory. The tool complements Microsoft Active Directory migration tools. DNA 4.6 combines three key processes-desktop, user, and administrative migration-into a single event. Key new features include User Redirection, which renames local users, moves users to different domains, containers, or organizational units, and creates new passwords automatically. Other features include a User Command line, which eases automation and integration of migrations into larger processes, and the DNA Options editor migration management tool, which enables administrators to update or create custom configuration files without XML knowledge. GFI FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP's new version offers a built-in SMS gateway that enables network users to send short message service (SMS) messages from their desktop. GFI FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP 11 also supports Windows Server 2003, and allows users to receive faxes in PDF format. In the corporate environment you can use SMS to notify roaming employees of updates or messages or issue emergency alerts such as when a server goes down. In addition to providing an alternate way to send SMS messages (vs. a mobile device), the SMS gateway also grants organizations central control of SMS usage. Policy Patrol 2.5
Policy Patrol 2.5 is an e-mail-filtering tool that offers anti-spam, anti-virus, content and attachment checking, disclaimers, archiving, and reporting. It works with Microsoft Exchange 2003/Exchange 2000/Exchange 5.5, Lotus Domino/Notes, and any other SMTP mail server. Policy Patrol 2.5 offers specific features for Exchange 2003 users such as anti-spam, keyword filtering, attachment blocking, and disclaimers. Xbridge Host Data Connect
The new version of Xbridge Host Data Connect now supports SQL Server as a data source.
