When the EFSnet Web Service receives a payment request from the Internet, the service sends the request to Concord's processing server. The processing server then forwards the request to the appropriate card association network, which then sends the request to the appropriate financial institution. When the card association receives a response from the financial institution, it forwards that response to Concord's processing server, which then tells the EFSnet Web service to send the response back to the originator of the payment request over the Internet.
