Metadata Management Duo
LogicLibrary and Unicorn Solutions form a partnership to give enterprises technology that supports business objectives
April 14, 2005
Software development asset management tools provider, LogicLibrary, and Unicorn Solutions, a provider of enterprise architecture and metadata management solutions, announced at the end of March 2005 that the two companies were forming a partnership to deliver a uniquely comprehensive metadata management platform for enterprises. In a mutual release announcing the partnership, both companies acknowledged that LogicLibrary's metadata for software development assets, such as components, Web services, and design patterns complements Unicorn's metadata for data elements and other aspects of IT and enterprise architecture.
Many enterprises function on hundreds of disparate databases and applications, and the Unicorn System improves enterprise transparency, enables business integration, and lowers IT costs by enabling enterprises to manage their information technology assets, architect their business operations, and align IT with their business functions in an approach called ONE Enterprise. ONE Enterprise lets enterprise IT continue working without disruption and attaches objective business meaning—semantics—to data, thereby adding management of the IT systems and alignment with the desired business architecture. This alignment revolutionizes the efficiency and quality of IT's response to changing information and integration needs of the business. ONE Enterprise gives the business the freedom to define its enterprise architecture without being limited by existing systems.
Dr. Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Unicorn Solutions, said that Unicorn maintains a policy of partnering with best-of-breed complementary metadata and run-time products to give customers an end-to-end solution for managing and aligning IT with the business.
As a provider of software and services that make it possible for enterprises to manage and reuse software development assets (SDAs), LogicLibrary's patent-pending technology provides enterprises with a comprehensive and collaborative approach for creating, migrating, and integrating applications for use in service-oriented architecture (SOA), Web services, and other software-development initiatives. LogicLibrary's BugScan provides a powerful code-scanning technology that is easy to use and helps architects, developers, and IT professionals ensure the highest levels of security throughout the software development life cycle.
